Terms of Use for IHS Content
U.S. and foreign copyright laws protect the content of our website and e-mailed communications, including Humanist Network News, our weekly e-zine. Nevertheless, because we want to maximize the dissemination of information generated by the Institute, we allow and encourage reproduction of IHS content, subject to the following terms:
- We encourage recipients of our e-mailed alerts, announcements, and weekly e-zine (Humanist Network News, or HNN) to forward those messages freely, including to list-serves. Please keep links intact so that others can find us on the Web. (For security reasons, avoiding forwarding messages containing private information such as access to the data on your e-mail subscription.)
- We encourage the re-publication of our logos, banners, e-mail announcements, material from HNN, and IHS-generated content from our website, with attribution. This re-publication can occur in hard copy format (such as local group newsletters, which we encourage) or on the Web. In the latter case, the attribution must serve as an active link back to our site.
- Headlines from HNN, our weekly e-zine, can be easily syndicated on other websites using the directions on our syndication page. Making this change to your site just once ensures that the most current news will always appear for your visitors.
- Things you cannot do with our content, even with attribution:
- modify it (summarize, reword, etc.) for any reason, and then publish or distribute it
- use it for commercial purposes
- reproduce graphics (other than our logos or banners) without permission
