IHS Grant Fund Success Stories

Dozens of humanist organizations throughout the world have accomplished excellent work with the support of the Institute for Humanist Studies.

These are just a few of their stories:

Atheist Centre: IHS carries on Saraswathi Gora's legacy through its grant program.

Humanist Assocation of Nepal: With a grant from IHS, HUMAN fights for reason and compassion in Nepal.

Humanist Community: "Sin Free" Sunday School. The IHS grant fund supports an alternative Sunday School.

International Humanist and Ethical Youth Organization: IHS grant fund supports international humanist youth.

The Secular Student Alliance: By the Students for the Students

The IHS Grant Fund Success Stories were compiled and written by Elizabeth Birkhead during her public policy internship at the Institute for Humanist Studies in 2006. At the time, Elizabeth was a junior at Vassar College majoring in political science.

How We've Helped, In Their Own Words

I want to express my gratitude to the IHS and to Larry, the president of the organization, who has generously supported us in a very difficult time... We didn't have any support from any other sources, except the IHS fund.
     --Dr. Gopi Upreti
President of the Humanist Association of Nepal

Since 2000 the Institute for Humanist Studies has been doing its best to facilitate youth involvement in humanism. IHS takes a support rather than command approach.
     --August E. Brunsman IV
Executive Director of the Secular Student Alliance
